Did you know that stress can cause hives?

Hives usually results from an allergic process but the cause can also be non-allergic, for instance stress. Hives and stress have a close relation.

Emotional stress can trigger some immunological changes in the mast cells which release histamines into the skin upon being disturbed and may lead to hives. However, long-drawn-out or extreme stress may be responsible for chronic hives.
