Today I thought I should tell you about a few commonly used drugs for curing hives.

These drugs if taken properly can be a great help.

But you might have any other underlying causes of allergy and before taking any drug it is advisable to consult a doctor.

Hives loratadine is a drug frequently used for treating different allergies including hives.

The hives antihistamines are a usually a drug that counteracts the effects of a histamines that cause hives. Hives antihistamines will not treat the underlying causes of urticaria.

Some other commonly used drugs are hives cetirizine, loratadine For Hives and over the counter antihistamines for hives.

How do people get Contact Hives?

It is always good to know about a disease before you get it.

You might stop touching many things if I tell you they can cause you hives!

But if you know the triggers and avoid them, you can stay safe. As apparent by its name, contact hives, is an instant but momentary localized swelling and redness which occurs on the skin after direct contact with certain offending stimuli.

What does Idiopathic Hives really mean?

To make this complex skin problem easily understandable, let me describe it by name idiopathic hives. Hives is a skin disease characterized by the presence of red or pale white wheals, that cause itching, on any part of the skin. Idiopathic means without any known reason.

If you or any of your family members have a skin rash with colorful and itchy wheals on any part of skin it might be idiopathic hives. It is an annoying, painful and demoralizing condition. You can try certain home remedies, but if they do not work you should consult a doctor.

Alhough physical hives is a more common type of hives, people have many misconceptions  about it.

All about Acute Hives and Cholinergic Hives

This blog will tell you  about two types of hives; one is a little soft i.e. acute hives and the other can be very brutal i.e. cholinergic hives.

Acute hives is defined as the presence of wheals which usually resolve within a few hours after their outbreak. Cholinergic hives is a skin rash brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat.

What causes Hives Pressure?

Does pressure on your skin seem like the last thing to cause hives?

Actually it is not!

It can cause you hives pressure which is caused by a sudden and high pressure applied on to an area of the skin. It can be easily identified by swelling and pain on the affected area. In extreme cases the pain persists and may be accompanied by low fever, chills, fatigue, joint and muscle aches, and/or headaches.

Do you know what  hives water is?

It is a rare condition in which hives can develop within 1 to 15 minutes after you come in contact with water.

It can appear in response to water at both cold and hot temperatures. These hives usually last for 10 to 120 minutes and do not seem to be caused by histamine release like  other types of physical hives.

Most of the experts believe that this condition is actually caused by skin hypersensitivity to additives in the water such as chlorine.

Be careful of Cold Hives

As it is winter, you need to beware of the problems you can encounter because of snowy and wintry weather. Most people think that cold temperatures only cause flu and minor allergies,but that is because they do not know about cold hives!

If you have large red wheals or swelling on your skin after you go out in the cold, you may have developed cold hives.
