What causes Adrenergic Urticaria?

Another weird type of urticaria is adrenergic urticaria.

This is a skin disease which is characterized by the eruption of small red papules with a pale or white halo of vasoconstriction. These appear within 10 to 15 min after an extreme emotional upset for instance a divorce or a bereavement of someone very close.

This is a very rare but different subtype of physical urticaria. It is the most easily identifiable type of urticaria due to its unique symptoms. Some people refer to it as a new form of stress induced urticaria.

Is Stress Urticaria a common disease?

After reading this blog you might think that stress could cause all sorts of diseases. It might sound outlandish to you, but it is true that stress can even cause you Urticaria. In fact it is a major trigger for many urticaria patients.

Urticaria is a medical term for hives which usually results from an allergic process, but it can also be non-allergic. This   is the case with stress urticaria, also called stress induced urticaria.

Does drinking cause Urticaria alcohol?

A doctor can give you many reasons for quitting alcohol. Let me add Urticaria to those reasons. You might not think  these two have any connection.

Urticaria alcohol –actually, drinking alcohol, which has ethanol as a major facta, can have detrimental effects on  patients with urticaria.

Though not all the urticaria patients are troubled by alcohol,  patients of chronic urticaria should specifically consult a qualified doctor and seek advice about it.

Some myths about chronic Urticaria Thyroid

As your thyroid gland controls a lot of complex functions, many skin problems that are directly connected to it. The hormones released in the thyroid gland are pretty similar to urticaria or hives. Though not defined in a medical dictionary, many people refer to them as chronic urticaria thyroid or simply urticaria thyroid.

Chronic diseases are more annoying as they tend to last longer and may last up till the patient’s death. There is no upper limit however, the minimum time a chronic disease could last is over six weeks (42 days) and should reappear twice a week.

How to avoid getting affected by heat induced Urticaria?

A few days back I blogged about cold induced Urticaria . Some people think they are safe when it comes to higher temperatures. Unfortunately, you are not safe from urticaria when it comes to heat.  There is a type called heat induced urticaria that can be caused when skin is exposed to heat above 43 degrees Celsius.

In most cases with heat urticaria, the exposed area of the skin becomes burned, stinging, turning red and swollen. It can cause immense itching and a burning sensation. Cooling down the affected area and exposing it to fresh air can help a great deal.

Is viral Urticaria caused by the Urticaria virus?

Today we are going to talk about Viral urticaria . Urticaria is a skin rash notable for pale red, raised, itchy wheals or bumps. It is usually caused by allergic reactions, however there are many non-allergic causes.

A large number of people think viral urticaria or urticaria virus is a specific disease. Its not, however some vial infections for instance, acute viral infection can cause acute urticaria.

How could I get Contact Urticaria or Contact Urticaria Syndrome?

What if I tell you there are many things which you should not touch, especially if you are prone to urticaria? If you do touch them you could suffer  from contact urticaria.  Don’t panic, it is just a skin disease which you can learn about and avoid or treat it easily.

An instant but momentary localized swelling and redness, occurs on the skin after direct contact with an offending stimulus. There are many reports of contact urticaria syndrome caused by a variety of compounds, such as foods, preservatives, fragrances, plant, animal products, and metals. What does “Lupus Like Syndrome” mean?

Most of you might not have heard about this problem prior to reading my blog.

Lupus like syndrome is a category for a collection of diseases with similar underlying problems with immunity.

It is, actually, an autoimmune connective tissue disease, that can affect certain vital organs of the human body including the heart and lungs.

What actually happens here is just like any other autoimmune disease, our immune system attacks the body’s cells and tissues. This results in itching, inflammation and sometime tissue damage. In medical terms it is referred to as systemic lupus erythematosus which can also trigger urticaria in the long run.

What is Allergic Urticaria?

Though there are many urticaria causes by non-allergic reasons, the most common ones occur in response to allergic triggers.

Allergic urticaria or urtcaria allergy is a skin severe condition, characterized by the presence of welts that itch intensely. It is caused by an allergic reaction, an infection, or a nervous condition.

Histamine and other pro-inflammatory substances are released from  mast cells, which are released in the skin and tissues in response to the binding of allergen-bound antibodies to high affinity cell surface receptors. How to treat Aquagenous Urticaria or Water Urticaria?

Do you know your body contains 55% to 78% of water? Can you live without water? Of course not! It is a major constituent of your body and an important factor for you to survive. However, you will be surprised to know that coming into contact with water can also cause urticaria. Its called  aquagenous urticaria or water urticaria! Luckily, it is an extremely rare disease so you don’t need to stop talking showers!
