Urticaria Wheal - Urticaria Wheals Can Be Maddening

Urticaria wheal
is a small swelling on the skin, resulting from an allergic or non-allergic cause, which may cause a burning sensation and it can be extremely painful for the patient. Urticaria wheals are found in many different types of urticaria, including chronic idiopathic urticaria, papular urticaria, hypocomplementemic urticarial vasculitisis, etc.

Urticaria wheals can appear on any part of the patient's body and are mostly red in color; however, they also have been found in pale, yellow, and white colors. In rare cases, they have been colorless; for example, they match the skin color and are identified by the raised skin. Sometimes, they appear as raised areas surrounded by a red base. Their size varies greatly, from millimeters to centimeters. Their size does not stay the same and may enlarge or shrink with the passage of time. These wheals may disappear and reappear after some time on a different area of the body.

Urticaria is a skin rash that can be characterized by many different symptoms, such as colorful patches on the skin, itching,  and a burning sensation; however, wheals are the most common and obvious symptom in most types of urticaria. In chronic urticaria, these wheals remain longer than six weeks and they may stay on the skin during the entire life of the patient. Patients should avoid the triggers and conditions that may aggravate this skin disorder.

It is advisable to consult your doctor for any type of skin problem, including urticaria. However, herbal medicines have been used for all kinds of skin conditions for many years and are still popular, as they have no side effects.
